The project aimed to address the inefficiencies and inconsistencies arising from the isolated management of LEAP's regional marketing websites in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. By developing a unified marketing design system, the initiative sought to enhance content sharing across regions, improve brand consistency, and streamline content management processes.

— The Problem

Operating in silos, the regional websites faced challenges of content duplication and branding inconsistencies, compounded by a reliance on web developers for updates. This setup created bottlenecks, hindering the timely refreshment of content and the launch of marketing initiatives.

— Objective

Create a unified marketing design system integrated with StoryBlok CMS, enabling global teams to independently manage their websites, drastically increasing content update efficiency and ensuring consistent brand identity across all regions.

The Process

  • The initial phase involved conducting workshops to understand the common content elements and functionalities across all regions. By analyzing existing workflows, we identified inefficiencies and areas needing improvement, laying the groundwork for a design system that would address these issues.

  • Using Figma, we designed, prototyped, and iterated on the components of the marketing design system. This phase was crucial for developing a strategy that ensured the system was both scalable and flexible, able to meet the diverse needs of different regions while maintaining cohesive brand identity.

  • In collaboration with developers and using Storybook, we accurately implemented the design system within the StoryBlok CMS. This phase included cross-functional workshops to align the system with the CMS's technical capabilities and the requirements of various stakeholders, ensuring a seamless integration that met the project's goals.
